Ilford Washaid 1 litre
ILFORD WASHAID is a hypo-eliminator formulated to aid the efficient removal of the thiosulphate by-products of fixation by ion exchange. It is particularly useful in speeding up the washing of fibre based papers and is designed to be used with the ILFORD optimum permanence sequence.
This is included below as the 'Galerie Optimum Processing' PDF - the sequence is to the rear of the Galerie brochure. This was the result of Ilford research in the 1980's, which found that the most fast & effective archival processing on FB paper was achieved when using a very short fixing stage, followed by a hypo clearing step, which permitted a very short washing time while still yielding prints containing very low residual hypo.
Ilford Washaid can also be used as a general purpose hypo clearing agent, aiding the rapid washing of all ILFORD films and fibre papers, as well as other manufacturers products. The result is a significant saving of both time and water. Galerie Washaid is particularly useful if a hardening fixer has been used.
Supplied as a liquid concentrate, it is used at a 1 + 4 dilution.
