Ilford Ortho Plus is an ISO 80 orthochromatic black and white film originally designed as a high-resolution copy film, but also suitable for camera photography including landscape, portrait and other applications where its distinctive spectral response can be used creatively.

Its blue and green sensitivity means that reds and oranges are rendered darker with stronger contrast than they would be with conventional panchromatic black and white films.

The film's fine grain and sharpness make it particularly suitable for detailed photography and reproduction work. 

One of the distinctive characteristics of this film is that it can be handled under a deep red safelight, making processing and inspection easier where required.

It is rated at ISO 80 in daylight and ISO 40 under tungsten lighting. For tungsten photography, Ilford recommends setting the camera manually to ISO 40 or applying a one-stop exposure correction.
